| MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA-(14-10-2003) feature of the 2004 Sail Melbourne International Regatta is the Australian Youth Championships being conducted on behalf of Yachting Australia. The event will take place at McCrae Yacht Club Inc. on the waters of Port Phillip from the 12th January - 16th January 2004 and will provide competitive racing in a learning environment for youth sailors from across the country.
The event is open to competitors under 19 years at 31st December 2004 competing in the following divisions: Laser Radial boys and girls; Laser boys; 420 boys, girls and mixed; 29ers boys, girls and mixed; Hobie 16 open; and mistral boys and girls.
Based on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula and combined with coaching and land-based sessions the event will help Australia's best young sailors grow into future Olympic Gold winners.
